It should come as no surprise that concern for and the study of the female orgasm pales in comparison to that of the male orgasm. Considering we are only now beginning to seriously prioritize women’s health it only makes sense that little to no attention has been placed on helping women achieve the basic human function of orgasm.
It also goes without saying that if men, like women, reported a 15% inability to ever achieve orgasm and over half surveyed were not satisfied the world would lose its mind and solve the problem. Oh wait, it did.
There are a number of theories as to why cannabis is a valuable and warranted treatment for Female Orgasm Disorder (FOD) including Amygdala Reduction, Altered States of Consciousness, State of Absorption, Neuroplasticity, and Dishabituation. Each of these theories are grounded in anecdotal experiences and continue to find their place and validation in women's health research.
Reaching into my own orgasmic experiences that include years of practicing and prioritizing daily oOrgasms I can happily attest that the aforementioned theories and anecdotal evidence that cannabis, properly dosed and tracked, can assist with female orgasms as follows:
Reduce anxiety and hypervigilance in the brain
Open altered states of consciousness
Increase focus on body sensation and imagination
Increase neuroplasticity
Help break contraindicated routines
As discussed in our previous article suggesting "It's time to close the orgasm gap", women are capable of multiple orgasms, yet, unlike men, women often need their brains to shut off to allow pleasure in.
Once that practice is perfected the benefits of orgasms include:
Release of feel good hormones, endorphins, dopamine, vasopressin
Increase estrogen, oxytocin, and prolactin which prevents wrinkles and abdominal fat
Arousal and orgasmic breathing increases blood flow and oxygenates the body for better heart health and immune system
Increased neuroplasticity which can opens the mind for clear thinking
The female orgasm is not a luxury but a basic bodily function that all women should be able to enjoy.
Women can be multi-orgasmic. The health benefits that come with orgasm reach far beyond blowing open neuroplasticity and the incredible symphony of hormones that dance with cannabis and connect the endocannabinoid system. It plays into our core being and the self-confidence and sexuality we show up with each and every day.
Good news! Attention is being paid to the female orgasm. Thanks to the unrelenting work spearheaded by Dr. Suzanne Mulvehill et al, medical cannabis was approved as a treatment for Female Orgasm Disorder (FOD) in New Mexico as of Monday, October 7th. New Mexico will join Illinois and Connecticut among States that have included FOD as a disorder deserving of treatment with cannabis.
October has been a good month in support of the female oOrgasm with Oregon and Arkansas both well through the approval process and open for public comment this month. If approved, the U.S. will have 5 States that acknowledge cannabis as a treatment to assist with the female orgasms.
